Creating realistic urban (cityscape) flow simulations is a complex, multi-faceted task. Ames researchers are developing tools for rapidly creating accurate city building models, meshing the complex space surrounding the buildings, and simulating the complex and multi-directional wind patterns to provide information to help us understand the performance and safety requirements for novel new vehicle concepts in urban air mobility and drone systems.
