OSIRIS-REx TAGs Surface of Asteroid Bennu

NASA has released a series of images captured during the OSIRIS-REx mission’s Touch-And-Go sample collection event Oct. 20. The images show OSIRIS REx’s SamCam imager’s field of view as the spacecraft approaches and touches down on asteroid Bennu’s surface, over 200 million miles away from Earth.

SLS ‘Green Run’ Testing By the Numbers

NASA continues to make progress toward the first launch of its Space Launch System rocket for the Artemis I mission around the Moon. Engineers at NASA’s Stennis Space Center near Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, are preparing for the last two tests of the eight-part SLS core stage Green Run test series.

NASA Researchers Help Analyze a Historically Powerful, Costly Storm

A powerful, fast-moving line of thunderstorms, known as a derecho, blasted across Iowa on Aug. 10. The derecho did catastrophic damage to corn and soybean crops, caused widespread utility and property damage, and resulted in fatalities. To help officials in Iowa better understand the scale and scope of the disaster, a team of NASA researchers analyzed the storm using data and imagery from multiple Earth-observing satellites and weather radars on the ground.
