This week in 2010, space shuttle Endeavour and STS-130 launched from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center to deliver Tranquility, also known as Node 3, to the International Space Station. One unique feature of Tranquility is the Cupola, a robotic control station with seven windows that provides a 360-degree view around the station. This photo, one of the first taken through the Cupola, shows the coast of Algeria. The NASA History Program documents and preserves NASA’s remarkable history through a variety of products — photos, press kits, press releases, mission transcripts and administrators’ speeches.
