White Sands Test Facility was the first NASA site to receive ISO 9001 certification and is currently certified to the latest version of ISO 9001:2015.
The ISO 9001:2015 standard is a member of the ISO 9000 – Quality Management family which addresses various aspects of quality management. The ISO 9001:2015 is a best practice management framework that follows internationally recognized quality management principles and provides guidance for a quality management system and is the only standard in the family that can be certified.

Vice Presidential Hammer Award
For our efforts in receiving ISO 9001 certification, our site was recognized by former Vice President Al Gore with the National Partnership for Reinventing Government Hammer Award. The Hammer Award was presented to teams of federal employees who made significant contributions in support of reinventing government principles and was the former Vice President’s answer to yesterday’s government and its $400 hammer.
