This screenshot taken from the Common Integration Tool (CIT) simulator shows an element of the Expandable Variable Autonomy Architecture software system working called Automatic improved Ground Collision Avoidance System or Auto iGCAS. This software has the potential to save aircraft ranging from general aviation to future autonomous aircraft. The pilot in this case is flying a Cessna 172SP aircraft in the Sierra Nevada mountains evaluating the iGCAS for use under bush pilot conditions. The iGCAS display is shown on the right activating because of severe downdraft winds.
