Several NASA Johnson Space Center and Pathways interns attended the Houston Microsoft YouthSpark event at Chavez High School. Microsoft created YouthSpark as a companywide, global initiative to impact over 300 million young people through increased access to technology education and job skills training. This event was geared toward students interested in the STEM fields. Interns volunteered as booth attendants to help show how important the STEM fields are and how they are integral to NASA. The students, teachers and parents alike were excited about the information offered, and they were thrilled to be given NASA “meatball” and mission stickers. It was fantastic to see so many students in high school interested in what NASA does and how they can be a part of it through STEM fields.
