NASA’s Deep Space Network is a series of antennas on Earth used to communicate with faraway spacecraft. But the DSN doesn’t send and receive sounds: It uses radio waves to communicate with spacecraft.
In this activity, students find out how signals travel and are decoded. Students learn about binary code and send messages using that code.
