Students will plan a simulated mission to the Moon and expand their knowledge about basic human needs by thinking about what resources will be necessary on a mission to the Moon. Students will identify resources available at their selected landing site and what science missions should be conducted. Students will also need to prioritize what to pack for living and working at their selected Moon site.

Students will:

  • Evaluate the importance of given objects based on basic human needs and availability of space on a lander in order to be successful on a mission to the Moon.
  • Optimize a given volume for packing items for space in the human landing system cargo bay.
