Ralph Mikulas

Chief, Infrastructure Management Division

Ralph E. Mikulas is chief of the Infrastructure Management Division of the Launch Services Program (LSP) at NASA’s John F. Kennedy Space Center in Florida. In this role, he is responsible for LSP facility and Information Technology infrastructure. Mikulas serves as the LSP representative for Kennedy and Cape Canaveral Space Force Station institutional contracts and services.

His division provides communications, telemetry, and launch site integration support for all LSP missions, including Psyche and Europa Clipper missions. Mikulas also provides communications and telemetry support to the Commercial Crew Program, Commercial Resupply Services, and the Artemis Space Launch System, and is pursuing payload processing facility support for the Artemis international habitat mission.

Experience

Mikulas began his career with NASA at Kennedy in March 1990. Prior to his current position, he worked in the Payload Operations and Management Directorate. From March 1990 to November 1998, Mikulas was a facility systems engineer.

Education

Mikulas received a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering in 1989 from the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne.

Awards

He is the recipient of a NASA Outstanding Leadership Award in 2021, and a NASA Exceptional Achievement Award in 2013.

Personal

Mikulas considers Melbourne, Florida, his hometown. He resides there with his wife, Kimberly. They have four grown children, Jessica, Timothy, Chris, and Elizabeth. They have two dogs, Zoe and Max.

In his spare time, Mikulas enjoys sailing, golfing, hiking, kayaking, and RV camping.
