Mike FitzPatrick

Mike FitzPatrick has supported NASA’s flight operations as a Life Support and Emergency Response (EECOM) Flight Controller for the past 34 years.  He has led and/or supported more than 80 Space Shuttle missions, logged over 15,000 hours of time in Mission Control (real time and training/mission prep), and served as a certified Shuttle Ascent/Entry EECOM and Orbit EECOM.  Mike was awarded the Space Flight Awareness Honoree award in 2007.  Since joining the Boeing Starliner EECOM team in 2012, Mike completed his certifications as Ascent/Entry and Orbit EECOM.  He served as lead EECOM for
Operational Flight Test (OFT)-1 and OFT-2 and worked Ascent/Entry for both.  Mike was awarded the NASA Exceptional Public Service Medal for his work on the OFT-2 mission.  He currently serves as the Lead EECOM for CFT.  Mike makes many contributions to training and mentoring including serving as an EECOM instructor, teaching crew, running simulations, and training new Boeing Starliner EECOM team members.  Mike is also a talented musician and composer. His songs were used as crew wake-up music on two different Shuttle missions.  He looks forward to a safe and successful first crewed Starliner flight!
