Leticia Gomez is the deputy chief of the Program Business Office with the Launch Services Program (LSP) at NASA’s John F. Kennedy Space Center in Florida. In this role, she is responsible for the day-to-day workflow of the business office team that supports LSP requirements and NASA flight project customer requirements.
She manages all program-related acquisition services and program-level finances, including the integration and insight of the launch services projects across multiple NASA centers and all program resource requirements. Gomez also oversees the implementation of the contracting officer’s representative functions for NASA commercial services contracts, including NASA Launch Services, Gateway Logistics Services, Venture-Class Acquisition of Dedicated and Rideshare, and Spacecraft Processing Operations Contract. Gomez’s office supports the Gateway Logistics Services contract for the HALO (Habitation and Logistics Outpost) and PPE (power and propulsion element).
Experience
Gomez began her career at Kennedy in 2005 as a senior program analyst in the center’s Office of the Chief Financial Officer, supporting LSP’s Resource Management Office through 2014. She was responsible for budgetary matters, including budget formulation, project planning, evaluation, negotiation, and execution of the assigned LSP missions and mission support budget.
Awards
She is the recipient of a Kennedy Group Achievement Award in 2018, NASA Honor Award Group Achievement Awards in 2014 and 2013, and a Certificate of Appreciation in 2013.
Education
Gomez attended the University of Central Florida and received a Bachelor of Science in business administration and accounting in 2005.
Personal
She considers Okeechobee, Florida, her hometown. Gomez resides in Orlando with her husband Victor, and their children, Gael, and Milan.
Gomez enjoys doing crafts and spending time with her children.
