NASA has awarded a five-year contract to Sierra Lobo Inc. of Fremont, Ohio, for test and operations support at the agency’s White Sands Test Facility in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
Test Evaluation and Support Team 3 (TEST3) is a hybrid indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract with cost-plus-award-fee and firm-fixed-price task orders. The period of performance is from Oct. 1, 2021, through Sept. 30, 2026. The maximum value is $400 million.
Under TEST3, Sierra Lobo will maintain and operate infrastructure to support testing of propulsion hardware, propellants, aerospace fluids, materials and various components, as well as provide expertise. The contract also supports hypervelocity impact testing and flight hardware processing, and provides technical services, training, safety and quality assurance, facility maintenance and operations, construction management, and emergency services. Sierra Lobo will perform its work at the White Sands Test Facility and other locations.
This contract is a follow-on to the Test Evaluation and Support Team 2 (TEST2) contract that expires Sept. 30, 2021.
The White Sands Test Facility is a self-contained component of NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston that includes medical, fire, and hazardous rescue personnel. The facility evaluates potentially hazardous materials, spaceflight components, and rocket propulsion systems for NASA centers, other government agencies, and commercial industry.
