The awarding of the medal to Hague accompanied the unveiling of the Soyuz spacecraft in front of Roscosmos’ headquarters building in which Hague and crewmate and Russian cosmonaut Alexey Ovchinin launched on Oct. 11, 2018 on an aborted mission to the International Space Station. About two minutes after launch, a booster separation problem triggered a launch abort, resulting in Hague and Ovchinin flying free of their Soyuz booster and landing safely in their Soyuz capsule downrange on the steppe of Kazakhstan. Hague and Ovchinin were reassigned to fly again, launching on March 15, 2019 for a mission that spanned 203 days in space. Image Credit: Roscosmos.
