CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. - Fred W. Haise Jr., Apollo 13 lunar module pilot, inspects the sampling tube to be used to take subsurface temperatures on the moon during the April lunar landing mission. Apollo 13 is scheduled for launch from Kennedy Space Center on April 11 and has a prime crew composed of Haise, James A. Lovell Jr., commander, and Thomas K. Mattingly II, command module pilot.
