“Sometimes your passion will take you to something else that you never expected. That helped me to find myself and what I’m good at and what my strengths are. To younger generations, I’ll say to do what you love to do and the door will open.”

“From my many years of organizing exhibit events, I recognize the public’s yearning to learn more about the science NASA offers. There’s nothing more rewarding than watching an attendee’s facial expressions when they grasp the stories told by our scientists. Helping establish a setting where people feel welcome to make connections with science is my greatest pleasure.

“Meeting the public and witnessing the curiosity of scholars, enthusiasts, and children is always a rewarding experience. Seeing increased engagement at our exhibits and trade shows validated that we were getting it right. We seek ways to ‘wow’ the public and to provide insightful and relevant information.

“When I first started working in science exhibit outreach, I had very little understanding of science because my background wasn’t in science. If I tell you how it all got started, it’s silly, but I was looking for a position that would allow me to travel to other places. I am so fortunate that I not only achieved my dream to travel but that I have the most awesome opportunity to learn ‘the why’ from our scientists – why they do the science, what they’re doing and how they do it.
