Astronomers using the Hubble telescope have identified what may be the most luminous star known.

The star in question emits far more power than our Sun does – and its diameter alone encompasses the Earth’s entire orbit around the Sun. Though it certainly doesn’t seem quite as large in the beautiful, violet-hued image.
