Juno’s primary goal is to understand the origin and evolution of Jupiter. Juno will go about this by determining the moisture content of Jupiter’s atmosphere to determine how the planet formed, measure the composition, temperature, cloud motion and other properties of the atmosphere, map magnetic and gravity fields, and explore the magnetosphere, particularly at Jupiter’s poles.
