Deep Space Station-56 (DSS-56): On September 16, representatives from NASA’s Space Communications and Navigation (SCaN) office, the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), Spain’s Instituto Nacional de Técnica Aeroespacial (INTA), and Ingeniería de Sistemas para la Defensa de España (ISDEFE) gathered to break ground for two new antennas, at the Madrid Deep Space Communications Complex (MDSCC), including Deep Space Station (DSS-53) and DSS-56.
