Joe H. Engle
Before his selection with NASA's Astronaut Group 5 in 1966, Joe Engle had already flown to space in the X-15 experimental aircraft three times. He was on the backup crew for Apollo 14, was one of two crews that flew Space Shuttle ALT flights, and then returned to space on the second shuttle flight, STS-2. His last space flight was on STS-51I.
