NASA’s Langley Research Center and U.S. Army Garrison – Fort Lee, both in Virginia, teamed up to provide evacuees from Afghanistan a unique opportunity to learn about NASA’s work in exploration and discovery.
The NASA outreach event on Nov. 10 for about 200 Afghans aimed to connect the diversity of STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) to an audience outside of the agency’s usual scope by telling the stories of NASA’s value to everyday life for all humankind.
The event housed visually appealing exhibits and engaging kid-friendly, STEM activities. Among the STEM activities at the event included a focus on aviation, living and working in space, Earth science and the Artemis mission.
