What makes your job at NASA exciting or unique?

I enjoy working on new, innovative projects and constantly pushing the boundaries of space exploration. We develop incredible systems that allow the transfer of data from spacecraft to researchers. What we do makes science and exploration a possibility.

How does your position contribute to the future Artemis missions?

We are developing ground systems that will directly support communications and navigation services for NASA’s Artemis program. For example, the NEN developed the Launch Communications Segment that will provide launch communications for NASA’s Space Launch System. Some of the other technologies we are developing will double the data rates from the Moon.

What’s your favorite thing about working for NASA?

I like working with people who are friendly, respectable and all have a common goal. That is what you find here. Everyone is excited about what they are working toward. This is a field that encourages people to bring out their best talent. I also enjoy that those who are experienced in their fields are always willing to pass down and share their knowledge; mentoring seems to be an enormous aspect of the NASA culture.
