JSC2013-E-087950 (18 Sept. 2013) — In the Johnson Space Center’s Mission Control Center station flight control room known as FCR-1, flight controllers support the current Expedition 37 mission that is ongoing aboard the International Space Station. Meanwhile many of them are also keeping an eye on Orbital Sciences Corporation’s Cygnus spacecraft which is lifting off atop an Antares rocket from Pad-0A of the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport (MARS), NASA Wallops Flight Facility, Va. The launch, which can be seen on the far right screen in the control room, occurred at 10:58 a.m. (EDT) on Sept. 18, 2013. Activity of the Expedition 37 crew of Commander Fyodor Yurchikhin of Russia’s Federal Space Agency and Flight Engineers Karen Nyberg of NASA and Luca Parmitano of the European Space Agency can be seen onboard the orbital outpost on the far left screen.
