In 1976, Marshall engineers Carolyn Griner (front), Dr. Mary Helen Johnston, and Dr. Ann Whitaker (left to right) completed training in Marshall’s Neutral Buoyancy Simulator. All went on to long careers at Marshall as Griner later became deputy center director and acting center director during 1998, Johnston served as alternate payload specialist for Spacelab, and Whitaker became director of the Science Directorate.
