Chandra was represented at the “Rocket Fair” event tied to NASA’s annual Student Launch event. ~1200 students from across the country were in attendance to showcase their model rocket concepts and browse other team setups. It was a very captive audience; students were in relevant fields of study and very inspired by the longevity of the Chandra mission.The trivia that Chandra was the largest payload to date for a Space Shuttle and had a dedicated Shuttle mission was very interesting to share. Sharing the importance of a single mission as it related to STS 93 contributing to 25 years of x-ray science resonated extremely well.
