Ann Kapusta, Kara Martin and Erik Williams of the Flight Systems Implementation Branch were recently recognized with NASA Space Flight Awareness (SFA) awards for their exceptional work. The mission of the SFA Program is to ensure that each and every employee involved in human space flight is aware of the importance of their role in promoting astronaut safety and mission success in the critical, challenging task of flying humans in the hostile environment of space by communicating and educating the Government/industry workforce about human space flight.

The Silver Snoopy awards are the astronauts’ personal awards. To qualify for this award, eligible candidates will have made contributions toward enhancing the probability of mission success. NASA Astronaut Sunita Williams presented Ann Kapusta and Kara Martin with Silver Snoopy Awards at Ames on Sept. 28.

The SFA Trailblazer Award recognizes employees who are in the early stages of their career and demonstrate a strong work ethic and creative, innovative thinking in support of human spaceflight.  NASA Astronaut and Associate Director for the International Space Station, Science Directorate at Ames, Steve Smith, presented Erik Williams with the Trailblazer Award at Ames on Sept. 24.
