NASA Langley Public Relations Specialist Dustin Hitt teaches young people about living and working in space in his role as Space
Science fans came face to face with NASA and its bold vision of the future at the Virginia Science Festival.

Visitors of all ages were drawn into NASA’s orbit Sept. 25-26 during the launch of the 2015 Virginia Science Festival in downtown Roanoke. An estimated 5,000 people attended. Exhibits presented by NASA’s Langley Research Center offered fun activities built around topics such as satellite designs, aerodynamics, and a technology called the Hypersonic Inflatable Aerodynamic Decelerator which could one day help humans land on the surface of Mars. Here, Public Relations Specialist Dustin Hitt, in his role as Spacey Casey, signs a fact sheet describing the parts and mechanisms of a NASA extravehicular mobility unit, better known as a space suit. The Virginia Science Festival continues through Oct. 30 at locations across the state. For a list of events, go to http://virginiasciencefestival.org/ Image credit: NASA/Lena Little
