Administrator Charles Bolden toured the Horizontal Integration Facility at NASA's Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia today with members of the NASA Advisory Council to receive an update on preparations of Orbital Sciences Corporation's Antares rocket for its flight in mid-September from the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport (MARS) pad 0A.

Administrator Charles Bolden toured the Horizontal Integration Facility at NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia on August 2, 2013, with members of the NASA Advisory Council to receive an update on preparations of Orbital Sciences Corporation’s Antares rocket for its flight in mid-September from the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport (MARS) pad 0A. Antares will carry the Cygnus cargo spacecraft to the International Space Station under NASA’s Commercial Orbital Transportation Services (COTS) program. Orbital is targeting the demonstration flight for Sept.14 – 19. During the day the group also discussed another important NASA mission launching from Wallops on Sept. 6 – the Lunar Atmosphere and Dust Environment Explorer (LADEE) which will launch on an Air Force Minotaur V rocket from the MARS pad 0B.
