Marshall and Downtown Huntsville Inc.’s third annual celebration is moving to the park this year. NASA in the Park will be held in Big Spring Park East June 18 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will include exhibits, food and fun for all ages.

International Partners Provide Satellites for SLS’s Maiden Flight

NASA has selected three additional small satellites, or CubeSats, from international partners to launch on the first flight of SLS. The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency and the University of Tokyo will jointly develop two CubeStas, and Argotec, an Italian aerospace company, will develop a third.

Scientists from NASA’s New Horizons mission have discovered that, much like a cosmic lava lamp with icy, churning “cells,” Sputnik Planum — the large heart-shaped section of Pluto’s icy surface — is being constantly renewed by a process called convection that replaces older surface ices with fresher material.
