Journal Contributor Jack A. Kozak was born in Detroit in 1958. A veteran of four years enlisted
service in the U.S. Navy Submarine Force, he is an ordained pastor in the
Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. He is married to the former Brooke
Staschke, also of Detroit and they have 4 children. He is currently the
pastor of Hope Lutheran Church in Coventry Township, Ohio, just south of
Akron. He has maintained an avid interest in the US Space program since
childhood.
