Kegelman and Roos delta wing (KEGELMAN, J.T.; ROOS, F.W., The flowfields of bursting vortices over moderately swept delta wings, AIAA-90-0599, 1990). Two 1.2MB disks (R5 and R5A) or one 1.44 MB disk (R5).

The data are in PLOT3D-compatible files, using "whole format", with two grids ("zones") and no iblanking. The first character of the filename is "X" for the grid ("XYZ" in PLOT3D teminology) and "Q" for the results; the second is "A" for LDV data, "P" for seven-hole yawmeter data; the third is one-tenth the sweep angle (only 70 deg. results are included); and the fourth and fifth give the angle of attack (33 deg. here). The five variables in the LDV results file are respectively unity (dummy density), U, V, W and unity (dummy total energy): the variables in the yawmeter results file are unity, U, V, W and total-pressure loss (normalized by dynamic pressure at infinity). The authors point out that since density and total energy are dummy values, quantities involving these variables will be plotted incorrectly. Also, PLOT3D will probably report "bad pressures" so the "/nocheck" option should be used.

PLOT3D format is fairly transparent and, if the $y,z$ coordinates are the same at each $x$, the XYZ file is highly repetitive. However people wishing to use the data are advised to consult a user of PLOT3D or its successor, FAST. Contact for queries about the data is:--
