The Propulsion Systems Laboratory (PSL) is NASA’s only test facility that simulates true flight conditions for experimental research on aircraft engines and propulsion systems. Using compressors, exhausters, and heating and cooling systems in two test chambers, PSL accurately creates temperature and pressure inlet conditions that propulsion systems experience in high-speed, high-altitude flight. The facility also provides data critical to understanding the performance and operability of jet engines at extreme conditions.
