NASA Awards Contract for Atmospheric Science, Data Assimilation Support

NASA has awarded the Support for Atmospheres, Modeling, and Data Assimilation (SAMDA) contract to Science Systems and Applications, Inc., of Lanham, Maryland. This contract will support the atmospheric science and data assimilation research conducted by scientists at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland.

This is a hybrid, cost-plus-fixed-fee contract with a core requirement and an indefinite-delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) requirement with the ability to issue task orders. The core portion of this contract has a one-year base period beginning March 1, 2017 and four one-year options that total approximately $10 million. The IDIQ portion of the contract has a maximum value of approximately $170 million. The period of performance runs through Feb. 28, 2022.

The contractor will support the full range of activities for the Earth Science Division’s Global Modeling and Assimilation Office at Goddard.
