NASA Administrator Bill Nelson will visit with students in Tallahassee, Florida to discuss the future of space exploration at 2 p.m. EDT on Friday, Oct.1.

Nelson will meet with engineering students from Florida State University and Florida A&M University, as well as local middle school students, at the Challenger Learning Center of Tallahassee, located at 200 S. Duval Street.

The event is open to media and Nelson will be available to answer questions from reporters afterward. To participate, media must RSVP by noon to Jackie McGuinness at jackie.mcguinness@nasa.gov.

NASA partners with Florida State University, Florida A&M University, and the Challenger Learning Center through a variety of grant programs. Those programs include NASA’s National Space Grant College and Fellowship Project and its Minority University Research and Education Project.

Prior to the event at the Challenger Learning Center, Nelson will visit the Florida State University Alumni Center to speak with members of the Economic Forum of Florida. Nelson will deliver remarks on NASA’s value to Florida’s economy and the agency’s exploration goals, including plans to return to the Moon under the Artemis program in preparation for future human missions to Mars. Members of the public can register to watch a livestream of Nelson’s remarks on the Economic Forum of Florida’s website.
