NASA Awards Socioeconomic Data And Application Center Distributed Active Archive Center Contract

NASA has awarded a contract to the Center for International Earth Science Information Network (CIESIN) of the Earth Institute at the Columbia University Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory. This is a follow-on contract for the continued development and operation of the Socioeconomic Data and Application Center (SEDAC) as a Distributed Active Archive Center (DAAC) for NASA’s Earth Observing System Data and Information System (EOSDIS).

The total value of this cost-no-fee completion contract is $24,943,143, including the base value plus four one-year options to extend the period of performance from Aug. 1, through July 31, 2023.

This contract is for the continued operation and maintenance of the SEDAC DAAC to perform data acquisition, application development of socioeconomic data, product generation, archive, distribution, user services, maintenance and operation of the systems and related science support activities.

The work will be performed primarily at Columbia University, Palisades, New York.
