David Piatak
David J. Piatak is currently lead project engineer for the Space Launch System buffet test program at NASA Langley Research Center and has lead many past launch vehicle buffet tests including Dream Chaser Atlas V, Ares I, and Ares I-X rigid buffet model tests.  In addition, he participated in the design for buffet verification pressure instrumentation for the Ares I-X Flight Test Vehicle and was responsible for Ares I-X buffet environment assessment.  Prior to working various buffet test programs, Mr. Piatak has lead or participated in a number of wind-tunnel and analysis R&D test programs within the Aeroelasticity Branch at LaRC including: DARPA Morphing Aircraft Structures Program, Bell/Army JHL Quad-Tiltrotor Aeroelastic Test Program, Space Shuttle PAL Ramp Aeroelastic Test Program, NASA/Army/Bell V-22 tiltrotor aeroelastic testing and analysis, JSF empennage flutter testing, and several Boeing unsteady aerodynamics test programs supporting 777 and 787.
