Blogger at the Launch Control Center Space shuttle Endeavour and its crew of six astronauts launched Monday, May 16, 2011, at 8:56 a.m. EDT on a mission to the International Space Station.

    This was the last mission of Endeavour. Endeavour carried the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer and a pallet loaded with spare parts to the International Space Station during a 16-day mission. The AMS is a cutting-edge physics experiment designed to look for anti-matter in the cosmos and perhaps unlock the mystery of what makes up most of the mass in the universe.
