STS-132 Launch Coverage

    Blogger at the Launch Control Center Space shuttle Atlantis enjoyed a flawless countdown and launch from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida on May 14, 2010, to begin the STS-132 mission. Launch came on time at 2:20 p.m. Blogger Steve Siceloff reported from Firing Room 3 in the Launch Control Center as the countdown moved toward liftoff and Atlantis climbed into orbit.

    Astronaut Ken Ham is commanding the mission to carry the Russian-made Mini Research Module-1 "Rassvet" to the International Space Station. Tony Antonelli is the pilot of Atlantis. Astronauts Michael Good, Steve Bowen, Piers Sellers and Garrett Reisman will serve as mission specialists.
