STS-134 BRIEFING AND EVENTS SCHEDULE

All briefings are held inside the Kennedy Press Site TV auditorium and will be carried live on NASA Television unless otherwise noted.

L-4 Days - Thursday, May 12

Approx. 9 a.m. - Astronaut crew arrival (media must arrive at the Press Site by 7:30 a.m. for transportation to the Shuttle Landing Facility)

L-3 Days - Friday, May 13

7 a.m. - Launch countdown begins (not on NASA TV)

10 a.m. - Precountdown Status Briefing
- Jeff Spaulding, NASA test director
- Joe Delai, STS-134 payload manager
- Kathy Winters, shuttle weather officer

L-2 Days - Saturday, May 14

12 p.m. - Kennedy Space Center orientation driving tour (not on NASA TV)

4 p.m. - Prelaunch News Conference
- Mike Moses, Mission Management Team chair and space shuttle launch integration manager
- Mike Leinbach, shuttle launch director
- Kathy Winters, shuttle weather officer

L-1 Day - Sunday, May 15

6 a.m. - Remote camera setup (media must arrive at the NASA News Center by 6 a.m., not on NASA TV)

12 p.m. - Rotating Service Structure moves away from Endeavour (media must arrive at the NASA News Center by 10:30 a.m.)

11:30 p.m. - Fueling commentary coverage begins

Approx. 11:36 p.m. - Tanking begins

Launch Day - Monday, May 16

3:30 a.m. - Countdown launch commentary coverage begins

Crew Activities: (times may vary slightly)
12 a.m. -- Crew wakes up (not on NASA TV)
4:31 a.m. -- Weather briefing (commander, pilot and mission specialist 2)(not on NASA TV)
About 4:41 a.m. -- Astronauts don flight suits
5:11 a.m. -- Depart for launch pad
5:41 a.m. -- Arrive at White Room and begin boarding Endeavour
6:56 a.m. -- Crew hatch closed and latched

8:56 a.m. - Launch

Launch + 1 hour - Post-launch News Conference
- Bill Gerstenmaier, associate administrator for Space Operations

Sunday, May 15 --- (Launch minus 1 day) --- 6 a.m. - round-the-clock
Monday, May 16 --- (Launch) Flight day 1 --- round-the-clock - 5 p.m.
May 17 - May 31 --- Flight days 2 - 16 --- 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (except weekends and holidays)
Wednesday, June 1 --- (Landing) Flight day 17 --- 10:30 p.m. (May 31) - 4:30 p.m.

Media Badging Schedule
News media may obtain STS-134 mission credentials from the Kennedy Space Center Pass and Identification Office on State Road 3. Office hours of operation are listed below.

Thursday, May 12 ---- 5:30 a.m. - 7:30 a.m.
Friday, May 13 ---- 8 a.m. - noon
Saturday, May 14 ---- 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Sunday, May 15 ----- 6 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Monday, May 16 ----- 3 a.m. - 7:30 a.m.

News media are required to be escorted by NASA Public Affairs at all times while at Kennedy Space Center, except when at the news center or the Complex 39 cafeteria. No photography is allowed anywhere other than the press site unless prior permission is granted by NASA Public Affairs. News media are allowed at the press site only when public affairs personnel are on duty and the NASA News Center is open.
