Osvaldo O Cuevas
AIM Mission Director, Goddard Space Flight Center

image of Osvaldo CuevasMr. Cuevas earned a Bachelor of Science in mathematics from Inter American University in San German, Puerto Rico and joined Goddard's Flight Dynamics Facility in 1984 after completing graduate work in mathematics at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez.  He also has a Master of Science in Statistics from Johns Hopkins.

He has served as the Flight Dynamics Operations Director for TDRS-5 and 6, ported the Flight Dynamics mainframe system to UNIX, and was Orbit Analyst for missions such as Aqua, Aura, Landsat-7 and Lunar Prospector. He led the MAP trajectory design team and served as the Deputy Integration Product Team Manager for the HST Ground System supporting Hubble Servicing Mission 4.  Mr. Cuevas then acted as an Associate Branch Head for the Science Data System Branch. He has been a Mission Director since 2007 for AIM and other satellites and is also the liaison for NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab/Deep Space Network scheduling in the Space Science Mission Operations.
