Since 2006, Gene Martin has been the Instrument Systems Manager for the Polar-orbiting Operational Environmental Satellite (POES) Project at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center. He is the lead for the POES Instrument Team, whose responsibilities include the development, manufacture, integration and test, repair and monitoring of instruments onboard the satellites, including instruments for the NOAA N-Prime Mission.

From 2001 to 2006, Martin was the Geostationary Observational Environmental Satellite (GOES-R) Hyperspectral Environmental Suite Instrument Manager. Prior to 2001, Martin was with Goddard’s Orbital Launch Services Project. Martin actively participated in over 20 NASA and DOD Launch Campaigns including Solid Controlled Orbital Utility Test (SCOUT), Atlas-E, Titan II, Pegasus and Delta II launch Vehicles and Missiles.
