LCROSS Completes Mate Match Testing
06.23.08

The Lunar Crater Observation and Sensing Satellite (LCROSS) completed 'mate match' tests at Northrop Grumman’s manufacturing facilities in Redondo Beach, Calif. The test are designed to test the fit of the adapter rings used to connect LCROSS with the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter on one end and the Centaur rocket on the other. The spacecraft and adapter will undergo final assembly in Florida later this year during launch processing.
