Atlas V Fueling Underway for OSIRIS-REx

At Cape Canaveral Air Force Station’s Space Launch Complex 41, RP-1, rocket grade kerosene, and liquid oxygen propellant are being loaded into the Atlas V rocket. The single-engine Centaur upper stage is receiving liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen. The two stages will boost NASA’s Origins, Spectral Interpretation, Resource Identification, Security-Regolith Explorer, or OSIRIS-REx spacecraft on the first U.S. mission to sample an asteroid.
