David Carver is known as the “electrical test operations Sensei” at NASA’s Stennis Space Center.

On his Asian Pacific American heritage, David said, “My Japanese heritage comes from my mother, Miyuki Koyangi Carver. She was born and raised in Nagasaki, Japan. She survived the bombing of Nagasaki during WWII and moved to the U.S. in the 1960’s. My father was born and raised in Logtown, Miss. During the 1960’s, Logtown residents were relocated to neighboring towns to make way for what is now known as Stennis Space Center.”

Today at Stennis, David is a part of the RS-25 engine test team. This team rigorously tests rocket engines that will take astronauts to the Moon and then eventually to Mars. To learn more about the Space Launch System, visit: https://www.nasa.gov/exploration/systems/sls/index.html
