Mid-Atlantic Coastal Resilience Institute

There is a five-pronged approach to accomplish MACRI’s goals, in which the partners collaborate (most playing a part in more than one area). Working from the Biological portion of the spectrum are the Virginia Institute of Marine Science (VIMS), the Chincoteague Bay Field Station of the Marine Science Consortium (CBFS), The Nature Conservancy (TNC), University of Delaware (UDel), and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS). The Climate portion is comprised of NASA, University of Maryland (UMD), and University of Virginia (UVA). Thirdly, VIMS, UDel, UMD, U.S. Geological Survey, and UVA make up the Geophysical aspect. Next, VIMS, CBFS, UDel, UMD, and UVA support Education. Lastly, the Policy team is comprised of the VIMS, TNC, UDel, UMD, USFWS, and UVA.
