Deadline Extended to Obtain Passes for 50th Anniversary Open House at Stennis

Due to demand, the deadline has been extended through May 24 for the public to obtain free car passes to attend the 50th anniversary open house at NASA’s John C. Stennis Space Center on June 2.
Free passes are available through May 24 at the following Chamber of Commerce offices – St. Tammany Parish Chamber, Washington Parish Chamber, Greater Picayune Area Chamber, Hancock County Chamber, Stone County Chamber and Jackson County Chamber. Passes also are available through May 21 at the Launch Pad at the Mississippi Welcome Center, 1-10, Exit 2, during normal operation hours – 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Open house participants must have a car pass to gain entry to activities. Each pass admits one vehicle. A limited number of passes will be available. For information, call 1-800-237-1821 or 228-688-2370.
Gates will open for the open house June 2 at 9:45 a.m. Activities – including exhibits and demonstrations by participating Stennis agencies, speakers, an opportunity to meet an astronaut and interactive activities for children – will continue until 2 p.m. on the lawn near StenniSphere, Stennis’ visitor center. Normal StenniSphere operations will be suspended during this event and will resume Friday, June 3.
Guests must arrive no later than noon to attend the activities.
Food and drinks will be available for purchase. Personal coolers will not be allowed on site.
