DEADLINE NEARS FOR NASA RESEARCH PROGRAM APPLICATIONS

Undergraduate students majoring in science, technology, engineering and mathematics are eligible for a 10-week summer research experience through the 2007 Undergraduate Student Research Program at NASA Stennis Space Center.

NASA is now accepting online applications for the 2007 USRP at all of its participating centers.

The program provides undergraduate students a hands-on, challenging research experience that stimulates continued interest in science, technology and related fields. Selected students must be available to work 10 consecutive weeks at 40 hours per week during the summer, under the supervision of a NASA technical mentor.

At the completion of the research session, each student must submit a paper on their NASA USRP research experience. Students may also be asked to discuss their research in public forums and/or participate in NASA-sponsored colloquia, workshops and technology demonstrations.

Final deadline to apply for internship opportunities under the USRP program is Jan. 31, 2007.

USRP applications are available online at http://www.vsgc.odu.edu/Menu3_1_3.htm

Students interested in participating in the USRP at Stennis Space Center may contact Joy Smith, program manager, at 228-688-2118 or Joy.L.Smith@nasa.gov with questions.
