Mills Receives NASA Director’s Certificate of Appreciation Award

Cecil E. Mills, legislative liaison for the Center of Higher Learning at NASA’s Stennis Space Center (SSC) has received the prestigious Director’s Certificate of Appreciation.
SSC Director Adm. Thomas Q. Donaldson V, USN (Ret.) and NASA’s Glenn Research Center (Ohio) Director Dr. Julian M. Earls presented the award to Mills during a ceremony held at SSC on Thursday, June 9, 2005.
The Director’s Certificate of Appreciation recognizes individuals whose meritorious contributions and other efforts aided in the accomplishment of the mission or goals of SSC. Mills was recognized for his invaluable efforts contributing to the growth of SSC over the last four decades.
Mills, a resident of Bucketunna, Miss., is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi.
SSC is America’s largest rocket engine test complex, and manages NASA’s rocket propulsion testing. Besides rocket engine testing, SSC’s Applied Sciences Directorate uses remote sensing technology to assist in solving problems related to erosion, agriculture and other practical problems. The center is located in Hancock County near Bay St. Louis, Miss.
