Marshall Center to Hold Day of Remembrance Ceremony Feb. 1; News Media Invited to Attend

What: NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala., will host a Day of Remembrance ceremony Feb. 1 to honor the Apollo 1, Challenger and Columbia crew members, and others who lost their lives supporting NASA’s mission. News media are invited to attend.
Who: Marshall Center Director Patrick Scheuermann and former NASA astronaut Jan Davis will provide remarks. An invocation, slideshow, candle lighting, music and poem reading will be part of the ceremony. A moment of silence also will be observed.
When: 9:30-10:15 a.m. CST, Feb. 1
Where: Morris Auditorium, Building 4200, Marshall Center
To attend: News media interested in attending the event should contact Kim Henry in Marshall’s Public & Employee Communications Office at 256-544-0034 no later than 4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23. Media must report to the Redstone Arsenal Joint Visitor Center at Gate 9, Interstate 565 interchange at Rideout Road/Research Park Boulevard at 12:45 p.m. Vehicles are subject to a security search at the gate. News media will need two photo identifications and proof of car insurance.
