NASA announces Gravity Probe B launch

The Gravity Probe B (GP-B) launch is scheduled for 12:57 p.m. EDT Tuesday from Vandenberg Air force Base, Calif.

The mission will test two important predictions of Albert Einstein's general theory of relativity. The 18-month mission will launch on board a Boeing Delta II launch vehicle. NASA TV will carry the launch live.

NASA TV is available on AMC-9, transponder 9C, C-Band, located at 85 degrees west longitude. The frequency is 3880.0 MHz. Polarization is vertical, and audio is monaural at 6.80 MHz.
