Mark Saunders Retires
After 19 years with NASA – 14 of them at Langley Research Center – and 19 years in working with the Navy, Mark Saunders retired on December 3. Saunders worked several jobs with NASA, finishing as the director of the agency's Independent Program Assessment Office (IPAO). Before that, he was head of Explorations Systems and Space Operations Technology at Langley, of Langley Space Access and Exploration office and manager of the Discovery program. "I can't tell you which job I enjoyed most," Saunders said. "I enjoyed them all." Saunders said he looked forward to retirement, but that he also hoped to do some consulting with the IPAO.
